Musik Thanks Me For Hacking

September 27, 2006

I alerted the school of the exploit on the new website and to my surprise, Mr. Musik calls my house and gives me a thanks. He wants to talk to me tomorrow about the possibility of hiring me to re-create the website. Because he called during marching band, I was not able to personally chat with him, but my father did, and boy did my father brag. Tomorrow I will post an update on how the meeting turns out.

I have been working hard the past few days on two projects of mine. The first being the OjaiSoft website, and the later being the second version of OjaiCMS.

The second version of OjaiCMS will contain a number of features that many content management systems are missing. I cannot go into much detail about the specifics due to the early stages of development. All I can say is that OjaiCMS is being re-written from ground up.

As for OjaiSoft.com, suggestions? I would like to make the site the best it can be, and I can do that better if I had some suggestions. In the mean time, check out the OjaiPost.

I recently saw this on digg.com. It is a nasa photo of how much smoke was created during the Day Fire. Being it local to Ojai, I thought it would be even cooler to post it here. To keep this short, here’s the link.

All summer I am been working on the Free Fun Guides website. I’ve learned a lot over the past few months, mostly about better OOP practices but also in the field of usability. I completely developed a custom CMS that the site is powered by. IN that process, I created an admin center, however; it’s not very usable. I do plan on re-creating OjaiCMS, the custom CMS I build, which will have a better GUI, more features, and better optimization.

Although freefunguides.com may be considered done, there is still a lot of work that needs to take place. I still have to fix a problem that has been bugging me, as well as the client for some time now. In fact, I should be fixing it now, rather than typing an entry. Maybe I should cut this short and fix the problem…

Facebook’s New News Feed

September 5, 2006

Ok, I know for fact this will show up on Facebook. And I intend it to. However, I would like to formally express my opinions about the new newsfeed. Please also keep in mind that I am very loyal to Facebook for not going the way of MySpace.
I do like the idea. However, when you can start seeing when other people join groups, comment, and write wall posts, it is a little too nosy. Just because you are someone’s friend does not mean you should be alerted every time the person does something. That’s almost as bad as me posting a blog entry every time I used the restroom.

On the note that it is a wish come true for stalkers: I do not believe it really presents a huge problem. It’s not like you can do it the “manual” way. Also, what most people forget is that you can only view what your friends do. I’ve seen on digg.com people stating that anyone can view you on the newsfeed. This is not true, at least from what I’ve seen.

If you agree/disagree with what I’ve stated, please post a comment on this entry so others can see it (only if you are on Facebook).

In other news, I found an exploit on Nordhoff’s new site.

Hex coded color pencils

September 4, 2006

I was thinking this morning about this and did some research, and of course found nothing. I want to know why no one has created colored pencils with the corresponding hex values on them for cmyk and rgb. It is so simple, and could really be a great tool for designers.

Now, watch someone steal my idea. Thats ok, just feel bad that poor old me won’t get any credit :(

Sunburned Nipples

September 2, 2006

Hokay, so it went down like a so.

The first time I have ever gone to an outside band get together, and I get sunburned in the most uncommon of places. I mean, it’s bad enough having tan arms, but a chest with the color #ffffff. One look at me and you think GEEK. Yes, that very well may be true.

All in all, it was fun. ‘Cept for the nipples which hurt like hell. As for the question regarding my attendance to a later party, well, we shall see.
