Halloween; This Year It Sucks
October 31, 2006
Usually, Halloween is really fun. Who doesn’t like dressing up and causing much shenanigans? However, this year it seems that it has lost it’s touch, at least for me. Either I’m blind, but no one I know is doing anything. My current plans are to sit here, and finish up a few missing aspects of OjaiCMS.
If anyone else feels the same way, maybe we should all get together and hang out somewhere. Only got a few hours though. Let me know though, I want to know if it’s just me.
Flesh – The Re-shoot
October 29, 2006
The first time we shot the film, it was “o.k” the acting was great, everything else was great, but the director was not very … directional. As a whole, we decided to re-shoot the entire film, this time with the old Johnny playing the directing role and the old director playing Johnny.
At one point during a scene, we all thought Nick broke his knuckle; he hit the wall with much rage. After some ice and ibuprofen, he was doing fine. The rest was shot easily and we hit our deadline of midnight. We have some touch-up scenes planned today, but we expect to have the film uploaded by this evening.
Thanks go out to: Josh Rester, Nick Rester (and family), Katie Kantrowitz, Kari Francis, Tristan Cassel, Chelsea Archer, and David Vlasoff. If I missed anyone, I did not do so intentionally.
“403 Forbidden: A Geek’s Guide to Rejection”
October 18, 2006
I found this today on Digg and I thought it was very funny. Sadly, you must be a geek to understand it.

“Not in that hole!”

Sleeping Problems
October 16, 2006
*Sigh* This is going to sound pathetic, but I found out that it’s not the caffeine that’s causing my sleeping problems. Apparently it is from my brain working too hard on all the things I have to do. I hope it doesn’t last long because I need my sleep. Last night I got almost 0 hours of sleep. Staying up is not the hard part, it’s the laying in bed for endless hours, knowing that every second you are there, you will be that much more tired the next day.
I should also note that I have been working on a new theme for my new blog over at OjaiSoft. It has some of the same posts here just to keep an archive, but I want to eventually throw this one away. It isn’t as customizable as I wish it could be. Besides, I have a massive server sitting around doing thing besides nightly builds of OjaiCMS as well as stress testing code that can handle more users than the server can handle. Well, Signing off early tonight in hopes that I can make up for the past nights sleep.
New Phillips Plasma
October 12, 2006
Today, one of my better days, I come home to find a smashed box
The box of the new 42″ Plasma. I was saddened by the fact that Mayflower, the freight company, handled the box so well. There was a spot where it appears that a forklift rammed into the side, just missing the screen (Thanks to whomever invented extruded polystyrene thermal insulation or as it’s commonly known, Styrofoam).
Luckily, the television works just fine, and had no damage; that I could tell. The other people in the house are watching a copy of Star Wars 3, and does it look good. I’m thinking about having a movie night for something soon now that I have the perfect living-room setup.
Specs:
- Phillips 42″ Plasma Ambilight
- Full 7.1 sound system with 1000 watt Yamaha receiver.
- Full Xbox 360 setup
- Tivo.
Am I missing anything? I plan on adding a Wii when it comes out, but not a PS3.
Flash Wars Decommissioned
October 11, 2006
Upon hearing about similar projects being shut down with the threat of legal actions, I have decided to pull the plug on the Flash Wars project. I am sorry to anyone who was looking forward to it. I truly wish I could finish it, but I also respect the intellectual property of Bizarre Creations.
Vista + dx10 + 360 controlla + Need For Speed: Most Wanted
October 10, 2006
Sure there are graphical glitches in poor video modes, but when you turn everything on high, man does it look good. And did I mention plays well with the controlla? Nothing more to say.
First Rain Of The Season
October 1, 2006
It’s official. It has rained for the first time this season in Ojai. And how sad that it rains when the Day Fire was just about 100% contained. As for me, I am going to go out and enjoy the weather.
